Richard Charnock, Head of Institute of recruitment Professional & Qualifications, REC
Richard is an ex recruiter who specialised in HR and Payroll staff before joining the REC in February 2009. Since then Richard has headed up the Account Management team covering all aspects of the REC products and services until he took on the role of Head of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals (IRP) and Qualifications. The main focus for the IRP in the short to medium term is to ensure the qualifications are as accessible as possible to all recruiters who operate in the industry. Whether that is as traditional “agency” recruiters, “in-house” recruiters or in some of the newer business models, all recruiters should have a qualification that demonstrates their professionalism. Richards’s passion for the growth of the IRP is shown by his determination to grow both the size of the membership, but also its recognition within the wider market place. “The future for the IRP is an exciting prospect; we have increasing interest here in the UK and are engaging with many stakeholders, inside and outside the industry. Our member’s clients are becoming more aware of our activities and the differentiator being a member of the IRP can bring. We are always looking to improve our services and offerings and have plans for further developments that will become apparent in the near and medium future.”
